Ready to Find a Home in Atlanta? What Are You Really Looking For?

The home buying process can seem overwhelming…there are so many things to consider and sometimes it’s hard to know where to even start.  To help you stay focused and get the most out of your search process, it’s a good idea to start with a simple list.  Identify your “must haves” so you know your priorities.  Buying a home is an emotional process and sometimes it’s easy to fall in love with a particular feature or style, forgetting about what you originally decided you needed to suit your lifestyle.  Your “must haves” may include things like number of bedrooms and bathrooms, good natural light, a particular neighborhood, or a large backyard.

Talk to family and friends and learn from their experiences – what do they love about their home, and what would they change if they could?  Thinking through what you want first makes it much easier once you start your search.  Your list can help you prioritize what you really want and need, while staying within your budget.

Atlanta’s Beltline is slated to take another step forward, with the groundbreaking of the Northwest Connector Trail in Atlanta Memorial Park scheduled for next week. The new Beltline trail will link to an existing network of paths in Atlanta Memorial Park and along Northside Drive, including the Northside Trail Spur at Tanyard Creek Park. Plans call for the trail, which are part of ongoing upgrades at the park which includes the Bobby Jones Golf Course and the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, to run along the northern edge of Peachtree Creek, alongside Woodward Way. A new footbridge crossing the creek will tie it into the rest of the park and once all the trails are complete the network will add more than three miles of additional pathways to the completed portions of the Beltline.
